12 Year Old Sydney Bellman Raises $12,900 for the Mia Hamm Foundation

Sydney Bellman is 12 years old. She loves soccer, science, photography and scuba diving. She is thankful that she is healthy and has the opportunity to do so many things. To celebrate that, this summer, on July 15th, 2016, Sydney hiked up Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California. She realized that many kids would like to be able to actively participate in sports and other adventures but are unable to do so because they are sick or lack the money and opportunity. Sydney decided that she would ask people if they would be willing to sponsor her by donating money to charity if she completed this hike up Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. The charity she chose to support is the Mia Hamm Foundation. Mia is a soccer hero of Sydney's and she admires the fact that Mia uses her fame to raise awareness and money for various charities that research and provide funding for families that need marrow or cord blood transplants, as well as opportunities for young women who would otherwise not be able to play sports.

We are so proud of Sydney and honored that she chose to support the Mia Hamm Foundation.
